Re: VT-VX Clusters

Ahh.. I get the calculation now, it is alot like the eeprom version calculations! 24C04 does read & program fine probably 50 times or more IC on the VY dash clusters They are fine to write to alot more then that.. the poor mangled vz cluster here has had at least a 150+ by now, amount of trial a...

Re: VT-VX Clusters

gonna need a few more different odo writes to understand that one, and couple different clusters with known vin numbers to decipher that one.

Good job madmn!
Did the clean dump show the correct odo value in the program?

Do anything different to your setup for a clean dump?

Re: VT-VX Clusters

maybe the dump you grabbed wasn't right/correct? you said that you were having trouble with it previously.

Well ill compare it with the clusters here in 10-15 days when the programmer rolls up

Re: VT-VX Clusters

Might need to do that wire connection alteration, plug the harness in and drive 1 km to see what changes.. as I cant see where the odo would be stored there.. first two lines look most likely but doesnt look like there is any logical progression like the other .bins have.

Re: VT-VX Clusters

^^ your going to have to do what you mentioned before, wire in a connector for the pins that must be raised so that you can unplug/plug without desoldering/soldering continuously. Guess we are also assuming the odo calculation will be the same as the previous eeprom bins. Anychance you could throw u...

Re: VT-VX Clusters

If it isn't bright enough, grab some 3mm leds (8000mcd- 10000mcd) with some resistors and replace the globe instead of just the covers.
Can't get much brighter then that :D

Re: VT-VX Clusters

Are you using a computer with a serialport? Or using a usb to serial converter for the nec programmer? I found with my serial programmer that it struggles alot with the converter and didn't always give clean reads. Wasnt a cheap converter either. Could be my computer but I havent had trouble with th...

Re: VT-VX Clusters

Ah that would be good to avoid raising pins.. only so long that those pins will last.

Got the nec programmer on the way as well, $58.

Interesting if it can be used with the vy/vz mcu, got no clue what it says as my test cluster is bit scratched up!
