Re: Technical Question VN v6 running Ecotec
Yeah, I realize that I may have worded my question wrong. I wanted to modify the signals that the Ecu uses to determine engine speed, which in turn makes the rev limit happen later. Although this module may be helpful if I can use it with my standard DFI module. They seem to be unavailable but ill P...

Technical Question VN v6 running Ecotec
Hi, I'm wondering what signals the ECU uses to activate the fuel /ignition cut, ie rev limiter? & if lowering the voltage to said sensors will trick the computer into revving past the stock limit. Yes, I know you can tune the ECU but that's not my question. I want to know if it's possible withou...

Re: 808 Limp Mode
This is the stupid speedway officials not knowing enough about it and trying to keep the class all even! oh just run them all on a sealed 808, ecotec's close enough to a early buick ..... :wall: the main issue other than the fuelling will be out is that the bigger cam will want a higher idle...

808 Limp Mode
Hi guys, I have an 808 running an ecotec with a big cam (its a race car that has to use a 808 and had to be sealed) no access is allowed to the ecu at all. My problem is when i start the car it seems happy, super fuely and lumpy as it should be. then if i let it idle it will almost stall then rev up...

Re: VX racecar - VN-VP ECU on Ecotec
for a racecar i'd go the CT2853 49928-110. you think? im just unsure if it will be too big. I figgured i may as well give it a shot asking here as you guys were so helpful with my previous questions. not even the camshaft manufactures give much insight into it. I guess because they dont have to. I ...

Re: VX racecar - VN-VP ECU on Ecotec
I'll put in my bit on the cam selection. On the dyno sim I found for at least Buick v6 does nothing above 470 lift. Having the right amount of duration, lobe separation and cam timing is most of it is at it seems. So, im back! ive found and my wiring is no problem. bought the ATFY computer(5500 red...

Re: VX racecar - VN-VP ECU on Ecotec
I think the major difference is the MAT sensor instead of the IAT sensor and the engine temp sensor if I remember correctly. You'll need to drill and tap the plenum to suit the VN style MAT sensor. I actually found some info in the most unusual place. on youtube some guy did a vn harness on an ecot...

Re: VX racecar - VN-VP ECU on Ecotec
Also i talked to a few guys who have wired up the vn harness on a ecotec and its proving to be easier then i first thought. So thats a plus!
