Correct. 42 kg of sound deadening. I was able to take 7kg out of each front door, just by trimming down the winding mechs and removing side intrusion bars and trim etc. that doesn't include glass.

thats a lot of savings. the other good one is a manual conversion. about 50kg of saving there. no doubt you have already done that.

balance shaft, 3 kg there

Car club had a dyno day week before last, the results were disappointing to say the least. We only made 200.1 whp :o . I am shocked as the bum dyno says heaps more. I am beavering away installing the intercooler and I have the cam from my other Buick away being reground. I will try to get the diff gears changed out in the next few weeks and then hopefully get some time tuning it on the dyno. :wall:

how long does it take to get to 100?

so you have about 270 at the flywheel, thats pretty good for a sc14. I'd be surprised with 200hp at the flywheel from a sc14

Not really sure. Dyno graph shows it makes maximum torque from 2000 rpm...feels quick.

an stock vn/vp can accelerate to 100 in less than 6 sec with 125-130rwkw which equates to aprox 170kw at the fly wheel. Stock vn-vp low spec models only weight 1350kg about the same as a small 4cyl car today.

so 150rwkw (201hp) like yours in a lighten car will be damn fast!

vlad01: I'd be very surprised to see a stock VN/VP making 130kw @ wheels, more like 130hp!

tdracertd: the other thing you need to keep in mind, most of the gains from the SC14 will be low to mid rpms not high, would love to see the dyno graph if you have it ?

from my experience tuning a v6 sprintcar the stock cam is really good from 1600rpm to about 5000rpm, but that was with a lot of timing adjustments, we managed 216hp at the wheels from this motor with methanol but it was the fact it made bulk torque from 1600rpm and carried it to 5000rpm that was the big winner!
