DELCO YELLOW/BLACK L/100

Post by Vpgts076 »

Hi Guys,

How do I create / MIMIC a PWM signal which is sent from ECU to dash for the amount of fuel being used so the dash can display the L/100 k's and Litres of fuel used etc on its LCD screen.

Thanks
Daniel

I dont know. But it would help if you told us what type of pcm, dash or trip computer etc and any other details.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Hi mate,

It's a standard delco 808.

The yellow/black wire goes to the trip computer

I need to know how the delco calculated the signal that is given to the trip computer.

Thanks, Daniel.

Some info here on how the PWM signal works .. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... 256#p38139

Thanks mate....

Guess my ides will not work....

Is there away to convert the data bus of an LS1 pcm to ALDL and convert the L/100KMS data in to VS level 3 format on fly?

Trying to get this data in a VS Dash.

The car has a LS1 conversion.

Happy to $$

Thanks
Daniel

it would be easier to go choppy choppy and convert a VT dash into it and wire it to the dash like a factory ls1 :P or do it like VL400's project and go VY dash.

Would have to say best conversion I have seen..... LOOKS FACTORY....

I am after the sleeper look so want to stick to VN - VS Level 3

Thanks

With a PIM it would be possible to request and then listen to the instrument cluster message over ALDL, converting the fuel used value to a PWM signal for the dash. Could also use just OBD2 if you can work out what needs to be requested and wont need the PIM then.

Or tap into an injector line and sum up pulses (would need to account for injector opening time to make it accurate though) and convert to a PWM signal.

Lots of stuffing around for either option though.

If you are running a PIM then custom firmware on one of my BCM simulators could possibly do this, but developing firmware for a one off is never cost effective!

If you can write code for an AVR you could do this yourself though.
