VYII LPG/petrol startup options... HELP!!!

Post by ralphski »

HELP!!!

I've been in contact with Holden.
5 dealership workshops on the phone, 4 different staff at HCC (via email) no one knows....

My 2004 VYII Holden Commodore came with factory fitted with IMPCO Model E Propane Regulator - Vaporizer - Converter along with a Impco Lpg Propane Carburetor Mixer 225 Fb225M

When I turn the key on LPG is programmed/selected as the fuel to start/run on.
It doesn't matter if it was running on petrol when I turned it off, it always come back with LPG (FYI, my friend has one of these & hers is the same too)

What I want to achieve is to have the car start & run on petrol & stay on petrol... Is it possible?

My reasoning is I want to remove the IMPCO vapourized mixer/regulator & go to Sequential Vapour Injection (SVI).
But, SVI requires petrol injector pulses & other information from the system.
So I need the car to think it's on petrol (so the SVI computer can take over).

Can you help? please

Your question is slightly different as you want to go SVGI.
For this need to put s standard petrol only calibration in, note that this will disable the factory lpg and also all the lpg functionality in the dash. Ie lpg fuel, and trip, etc
There is a bit on the ALDL that the ECU sends to tell the dash what fuel is being used, this is activated when the lpg is running and the fuel injectors are off.
This is what was done on the VZ and VE factory dual fuel vehicles, hence the gauge led's used on these with the switch.

Well, I've got the files from my PCM (at last) I've saved all 3 of them in the attached zip (yes that's my reg plate for the filename).

Hopefully someone here can make sense of it.

that bin is 92163772 which is $06b, you could go to 92118889 but it's older & $06a but I think it will run on whatever fuel it was left on I believe!

EDIT I don't know why your cal file filled out to 128k with zero's it should have only been 16k!

Could use the $06B v2.41 xdf, untick "LPG enabled" and flash your spare pcm.
Atleast you get to keep your custom tune this way.
The fuel gauge on the cluster can still be used, will have to cut some wires behind the kick panel on the drivers side and wire a relay in so it changes between tank senders when the svi is installed and set up.
LPG light in the cluster could be tricky but doable.

I tried flashing it with LPG unticked & now I seem to have a bricked PCM.
It originally came back with a checksum error & now it won't find it at all...
