Worst case throw the old one back in and drive to the wreckers?

Ive never even read up on doing this. But when I write a new bin to my NVRAM it says the same warning.
Ive done that plenty of times.
Fairly cheap, Around $30-$50 off eBay. But i'd like to try to not have to buy any more if possible haha.
My local wreckers wanted $200....Stupid wreckers!, Bunch of hobo's charging stupid prices for nothing.
Not much car stuff in SE QLD. So you have to pay whatever they want. They know you got little choice.

If it all goes wrong you just copy your factory PCM then do a write bin to the spare PCM, then write cal section that you took from the spare PCM originally back to it then it will have all the settings it had before it went south bar the security stuff. you can leave vats on then.

Is The1's enhanced code for use with the ls6 MAF ??
Ok, This is good. It's good to know that i can revert back to normal if everything goes south for the winter!
I would hate to destroy of my first go. That wouldn't help much with thinking of giving it another go!

Dylan wrote:That's what I think just write the new bin.
Ok, Sounds like the plan.
So, just to confirm.
Just open OSE. Click WRITE BIN.
Select you're untillgoodfuel .Bin.
Write it.
Then all should work ok?

Not sure what code is on your PCM now, but writing just the enhanced cal to it is not a good idea. You could have the situation where the cal and code segement are from different versions (there is a $BD A and $BD B version). You also wont get any of the enhanced features that are in the bin.

Either run the enhanced bin (you need to do a bin write with the enhance bin initially to get it on the PCM and then cal writes after that for any tune changes) or stick to your current bin (get cal, edit with your tune changes, write cal).

If going down the enhanced path and you want VATS, then you need to do a get bin of your current PCM saying no to clear the registers. Do a write bin with this to clone your bin to the new/spare PCM (this sorts out the security stuff). Then a write bin of the enhanced. After that you can get cal, edit, write cal for tuning.

There are other ways that involve a hex editor but will leave that for now!

Hey Guys.
I just tried to do a Write BIN before i saw VL400's Reply.

But during the Write BIN process, It has failed.
Sais, 'The write process has failed, Would you like to retry?
If the device has been erased, Answering NO may render it unusable.

So i clicked YES for a retry, But failed again.
Tried again, Failed again...

No response, Re-sending the write process.
To many resends, Aborted Task.

I had to click no to get out......Now it will not connect......I think i may have done the wrong thing!
Damn, Did not take me long to wreck it!!!.
What should/can i do from here? IS there any saving it from here, Or have i just blown it?

I might be onto a ecu a mate has. Can you give the part number off the ecu?
If he has a VX one we can sort something out.

Since the flash tool can flash any part of the flash pcms memory you can also use the vy pcm and flash the vx os on it and the car will never know.
Just incase you find a cheap vy one instead.

Hi Dylan.
Part number of original ecu:
Service number: 09356445
16269208
DKDC.

Part number of spare ecu.
Service number: 09356445
16269248
DMTY.

That would be excellent. Thanks

So chances are I wrecked it?

Might be recoverable but I've never dealt with these ecu before.
Think I read somewhere about connecting to the memory on the circuit board or removing it and putting it in a burner?

Really hope so. Would like to get back to trying to tune.

That enhansed XDF you sent me is heaps better than the one I had. Seems to have heaps more parameters and stuff. Thanks for finding and sending it to me.
