VT V8 How to go about VATS removal (304 v8)

Post by Jackson. »

Hi all,

Just bought a vt v8 with ecu, putting it in a Torana.

How do I go about getting the VATS removed so I don't need to run a BCM?

And will I need to do anything else for it to just wire up and run?

Thanks

Located in Wollongong

if you have the eprom programming hardware and a burner you can easily do it yourself, if not you can post the memcal to someone who can do it for you, might be worth posting your location and someone might even be local.

As for the anything else, will just be a matter of sitting down with a wiring diagram and working out what you need and don't need to make it work.

I don't currently have the hardware but wouldn't mind learning, how much does it usually set you back?

I've also included location, thanks

A good quality burner a GQ4X around $150. A UV eraser around $30. And some freight on that.
Both can be brought from Dark Wire.

Or post in the wanted section and see who can sort you out. Well worth getting some mods to the stock tune too there's some gains to be had. Ive done a few VT's now they get a heavy ass VT moving ok let alone a Torana. You should start a build thread I love Torana's.

Might just have it done, what's the average price?

Yeah I'll definitely be looking into that

VT came with 304 and gen3. The 304 is within reach of most of us on the forum but the gen3 requires more expensive software. Please post more info.
