808 vs 082 vs 305 ECUs

Post by MAGP »

I just need to get something clear in my head I can use a 082 or a 305 ECU on a car that come out with an 808 can't I?
I was always of the opinion I could, althought I've never done it, but I don't know if I can tune with a 305 and then burn the tune to an 808.
I'd need a larger eprom in an 808 to take the tune wouldn't I?

Nah all compatible. 808 doesn't have the high speed comms board from factory. But can take a 12P tune with VATS disabled no problem. The high speed chip allows it to also communicate with a BCM. The 082 is the first of ours to run the high speed chip from factory then the VS model ran the 305. All are compatible. A 305 can run in a VN with a stock VN 16K memcal no problem. So can a 808 run in a VS with a 32k memcal with VATS disabled no problem. My tuning ECU is an 082 and it's been used in VN VR VS VK Torana WB sprint car all no problem. If I tune any other's I just use there ECU such as a VT or even a VR auto with a 424. Although I'm going to get my own 424 and have it ready to go just not much of a demand for them really.
