repair manuals
Re: repair manuals
Yes, but the factory EFI six autos were basically the 253 V8 version inside, more clutches than the previous six cylinder ones

Re: repair manuals
theres a few differences, the ones mentioned above, also the EFI 6 had the bell housing with thicker area around where the bellhousing mounts to the motor, it also had ribs running down the bell housing to strengthing it for the extra torque the efi motor made apparently and it was a full circle bellhousing.
As far as my experience with trimatics, if they are reabuilt properly with good bits they work very well.
that said its like anything really, put a stock or clapped out one behind a powerful enough motor and it will torch it!
first one i ever put in the gemini was from a working car that drove over 1000kms when my mate bought it, he then removed the auto and 6 and put a V8 in it, i kitted it with gaskets some shift improvements, and then the first really bit of load it had it promptly lost forward motion ... reverse worked perfectly though! unfortunately i never found out what the reason for that was as the box ended up at woodburn in one of Jayme's mates sheds because i couldn't bring it home! anyways ...
i've actually seen alot more issues with T700's not handling the power than trimatics so its all horses for courses

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: repair manuals
My older brother was an idiot driver so probably explained why every car he got was dead pretty quick and none were ever actually legit road going cars. I am surprised that he killed 3 trimatics in a row, like straight away.
only box I ever killed was a vw squareback box as it was empty of oil and I didn't know it, broken engine mounts and way too many burnouts (attempted ones) killed that box fast after a year or 2 banging around in the paddock and back roads.

I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: repair manuals
some of it is exactly what my mate has done to trimatics before, take out the wave washer and put extra clutch and extra steel in both 2nd and third
