And for my first question, which may be stupid so forgive me but does the angle at which a commodore throttle body sits matter? Im planning to have it positioned like so...

as far as I am aware the only thing to try and do is make sure the IAC part (on the left of the TB in the last pic) is not as the bottom but other than that just whatever works for you really!

looks like you've brought the car a long way already, and the delco with turbo should help :D

Thanks for that, just to confirm (im a little thick) the IAC shouldn't be positioned at the bottom as in the location of the throttle arm in the middle picture?

I assume the logic is to keep crap from collecting in it. how your thinking looks fine to me.

Nice work, you don't see many old Fiats around these days.
I converted my Alfetta to delco because it was cheaper and easier than rebuilding those DHLA40s
You'll miss that sweet induction roar, but the turbo should be compensation enough.
You WON'T miss the constant carb re-balancing, the throttle progression stumbles, poor fuel economy, the cold starts (I see you don't have the chokes connected) or the car-destroying engine bay fires those air filters can cause on a backfire.

I decided that id be better off converting the current engine to efi, then build up my spare block for the turbo, then move all the efi parts over to the new engine. That way i know it all works. I am going to make a separate trigger disk which i will weld or bolt on to the front pulley then get the whole unit balanced. I recall reading that raised teeth, rather than slots in the trigger disk give a sharper/cleaner reading? would it be worth making the trigger disk like either of the following? ..(seven raised triangle shaped teeth or seven raised square teeth) as apposed to cutting slots in a round disk as many have done on this forum? Any input welcome. I hope this question isnt too stupid..

yes raised teeth are better and square is what you need i believe.

also you can get laser cut trigger wheels from the internet, might be an easier option than making one ?
