Ok thanks. It hasn't been serviced by dealerships.
If i was to buy a second hand ecu and send it off could it be done without the car?

potentially, if that is the issue.

normally you would program the IPC and PCM to be sure it matches.

You mean ecu? Or cluster?
ECU, never had a faulty cluster

So that ecu wouldn't work in the car but ok on the bench?
Ive heard the alloytec ones are doing that.

I would suggest testing fuel guage sender unit resistance while its playing up.
VZ ls1 pcm fuel guage calibrations are normally for either 64 or 74 lt tanks ,if it had the wrong settings fuel guage still works but reads wrong .

The no start condition may have just been because of low batt voltage.

Im hoping that's the cause of the no start.
But the fuel gauge error I've heard to many horror stories.

Is the sender wired to the ecu?

Im guessing it does. Must be one of the ones on the right i can't see the description.
Must be a way of getting that info onto the BUS?
Surely the engind cal does not need that information.

There are 8 calibration modules on vz ls1 pcm, all the fuel guage conversion/config settings are in the fuel system cal module.
