If the LSA of the cam isn't too low, you will have vacuum for HVAC system, have a look at most cams for LS engines, generally 110° +.

It's not feasible to weld a cast iron block, alloy block is no problems.

That cam is similar to the cam in my 202, it makes about 320hp, so 380 should be achievable, just need some good fuel.

All cam timing I talk of is .050" duration. Depending on what XU1 cam that is mentioned, but they were all around 220 degrees except for the 1973 model which was bigger &the fuel was 98 octane Super or Avgas. The comp was 10:1 because it was a factory carthat they had to give warranty on.

The 202 in the LJ Torana is 262. The is designed to from 2200-5800, with triples on, it was about 6200, but the VK injection manifold chokes it at 5800.

It idles at 17 degrees then steps in the low 20s. I have to be careful with the timing as it has 10.8 compression & tends to ping with a little cam like it has. I didn't have the logger hooked up today, but it pulled the car trailer like a charm. 2 hours at a 100 km, very happy how it went, I'll...

Not yet. The engine is fine when coming to a stop. Stalls as you let the clutch out in 1st or reverse.
