Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

I forgot it was you that has the charge light problem, but that sounds like a faulty regulator - those VNs use the same regs I used. As to the rest, I can't convince you obviously - it's like convincing people that kinking oil lines doesn't increase fuel pressure (to the bearings), or that the oil p...

Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

If its so unsafe this way why is it what the speedway boys all run ? Are you saying that because they run it, it is safe? Or are you saying it is safe to keep the fuel pump running whilst there is still oil pressure? Or that cutting the fuel pump upon loss if oil will better protect the engine (tha...

Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

it does with the oil pressure light :D So you agree - like I say, the fuel pump cuts out several (tens of) seconds after the engine stalls? For aftermarket mods, racing etc, it's supposed to cut out when the engine stalls - not when oil pressure drops. PS - FYI: I too have about 70 seconds cold. Th...

Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

It sounds like you are still missing the point....

Oil pressure is an engine preservation issue - it should kill the engine or alert the driver.

The fuel pump cutout is a safety issue - as soon as the engine stalls, the pump shall stop.

End of story.

Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

Not sure which comment still stands, but as long as people are aware that if the oil runs dry in the Camira, the fuel pump will keep operating. (I'm not arguing that it keeps the pump running when the relay fails - that is obvious. But it is IMO flawed - better to use air flap etc since it's EFI any...

Re: JE Oil pressure switch - WHY ?

I'm dragging up an old thread, but since someone pointed it out to me.... or you could wire it the way i originally thought it worked and that is as a safety, so if you loose oil pressure it will kill the fuel pump .. Not if it is standard (JE) Camira, (some) Rodeo etc wiring whereby if you have zer...

Re: cause i can :)

Maybe they consider it as bad as an unsecured vehicle?

Maybe it's the Lert issue - they could be guilty of aiding terrorism. Or maybe they want to minimise that cyber-terrorist risk.

Re: cause i can :)

I read Queensland Police were prowling for unsecured wireless. Not sure whether is was advisory, or to fine, or a hoax. But it's the simplest way to download kiddie porn onto someone's PC. (But what are the chances your grudge has that access?) (FYI - I'm jesting - Don't do it - they can figure out ...
