Yay - combined a bunch of diagrams and worked out I stuffed up the data stream cable from the BCM to the ALDL port :)

After hooking it up was able to connect tool and program key no worries! - so apparently ECU not required for BCM/Locksmith tool comms.....

Hey guys - cheers for all the replies. The tool is a locksmith tool - will have to double check the numbers etc. The VR had an external TDM initially, then the TDM and BCM were combined in later models (i.e. mine). The wiring diagram I have (GM service manual diagram) only shows the wiring WITH TDM....

I have a car fitted with VR caprice BCM (integrated theft module). The standard ECU has been replaced with an after-market unit. Unfortunately, during the last few years of building the car, I've managed to lose the only key I had with the remote keyhead on it. I've got my hands on a tool that locks...

Trip computer fuel usage signal VR ECU

I need to emulate the fuel flow signal that was sent from an original VR v6 PCM to the trip computer (pin A10 auto, A2 manual). From what I've found in the service manual, this is a 0-5v signal (presumably pwm square wave. earthed on ECU end?) that varies according to fuel consumption of motor. Does...
