Re: Do I need to Tune(VS Ecotec)with lighter F/W

The USB COMM board I bought from you is wired/ soldered on. I tried connecting with tuner Pro RT and get connected signal. I'm still trying to figure out the emulation part. It wont do emulating yet. (most likely due to my not knowing how!) I'm guessing that the connected "LOGO" is due to ...

Re: Do I need to Tune(VS Ecotec)with lighter F/W

I bought the NVRAM + USB COMM board from VL400. I did mention it was for a T5 manual setup in a VS with the manual ECU. Ill check back through my emails to him to confirm it. It's already a while back that I bought them so he may not remember me. In the morning I'll get the voltage issue sorted firs...

Re: Do I need to Tune(VS Ecotec)with lighter F/W

I just got home. I'll take a pic now and post it. When I left my destination to drive home (technically before I left) I swapped the NVRAM over to the genuine/stock memcal to see if it helped. CEL went out and Idle was perfect straight up. No more high revs at Idle and no stalling for MOST of the tr...

Re: Do I need to Tune(VS Ecotec)with lighter F/W

Thanks for the response. The ECU is a manual ecu. I bought it specifically for the conversion and is (factory) labeled manual aswell. What I might do though is open the case and compare it to confirm it has the extra components on the board. The guy I bought it from advertized it as a VS manual T5 E...

Re: Do I need to Tune(VS Ecotec)with lighter F/W

It's been a while since my last post. Had other stuff happening so it's taken ages to get the car finished. Just a refresher of the cars specs VS EcoTec 3.8l with: T5 5spd conversion MODDED light weight 6 bolt to 8 bolt converted flywheel weighing 9.5 kg approx (as compared to the 8 bolt F/W I have ...

Re: A VN manual V6 memcal SSV sticker???

Just soldering the interface to fit the USB COMM board. Then after much reading I'll figure out how to use TunerPro and memcal tool to find out the tune that's on it :study: :study:  :D I decided to put a pic up. Its a cool looking Memcal. 8-) Sorry about the size but it does make it clear to...

installing USB Comm board. Where is the 5V jumper? 728ECM VS

Just soldered the data and ground wires to the ECM circuitry.
In the tutorial it says to set the jumper from 12V to 5V, for most VR and onwards ECM's.
Where is the jumper I need to bridge?
I do have it correct that I only need the 2 wires due to my installing it to the ECM??
Help please anyone :)

Re: A VN manual V6 memcal SSV sticker???

Thanks.
It has it written on a "sticker"(masking tape) and is written by hand.
the chip itself has the numbers;
M27C256B <-(I'm guessing is 256Bit??)
-I0FI
5880K
9836E
I will be converting to NVRam with this anyway.
