im just wondering if i ran a clip from the data pin on the scantool to the data pin on my connector and ran your program listing to chatter and sent a command from the scantool assuming you can without it being connected to the car would it pick it up?

yep i had a scantool from a mate and cleared mine last week, has been cleared all week i just then disconnected the yellow plug under and column and turned the ignition on to set a code, then reconnected, then i turned it all on again with the code logged and tried to clear it. i got ahold of the vs.bin file that the tech1 uses to reset the airbag light, but even with a hex editor i couldn't find much info, i think a tech1 with a serial cable and serial port monitor will be the only way to find out how.

im still trying to figure it out, would be nice if had access to a scantool and could capture the commands being sent, hopefully someone with access to one can do this.

The VS has no serial data to the cluster the vs module id's are PCM f5 ECM f5 BCM bd ABS f9 SRS f2 Rob They all seem to work apart from BCM which is F1 for me. thanks for that Dr Bob i thought the cluster having a data id was weird but thinking that say level 3 might have some sort of extra diags could be the case but obviously not. Im using Efilive V4 when i used $F1 and ran the Clear DTC code it reset the BCM i havn't tried BD maybe they are the same? I ...
