Re: 4L60E Complete Rebuild
Yeah I have seen this a lot with LS specifically which seems to an issue with LS mainly, because it happens with manuals too under a heavy clutch on them. I'd say the V6 is pretty safe from the tear downs I have done with decently heavy clutches and zero evidence of wear, but a clutch isn't pushing ...

Re: Connecting to windows 11
Given that my memory is stuffed these days I might be recalling it wrong, but I have a feeling I had this before on 11 (pretty much skipped 10 in personal use but should be the same) where windows would immediately replace a vendor's driver I install with what it thought was a newer version from win...

Isn't that the best feeling when you find the root cause of a long standing and vague issue?

Re: Vlad's rides thread
They said they would sleeve them and asked me to send mine back to do that, only 5 were made to test the market including mine and they weren't willing to remake them due to the time involved. But in the end I decided I'll use my regular machinist and get him to do it instead as I have other jobs o...

Re: Vlad's rides thread
vlad, you do know engine masters tested the dents in header pipes and it made zero effect on power output bud? i needed a TLDR of p344, so put it into chatgpt. chat reckons 'he is doing God’s work for VP preservation society — just with a strong whiff of “if I don't do it myself, I can't trust it” ...

This one is factory stock and the stock 205. Normal height. IMG_8371.jpg Fully travel, pretty close to the inner arch, but the outer is ample. IMG_6141.jpg IMG_6147.jpg The current shitbox with 215s with the same offset as the HSV wheels common at the time, +37 about 7mm outer and can rub on the inn...

Re: Coil Pack Testing
We've had multiple Delphi coils die in short order, same with their DFI modules. I try to stick with good used for the DFI as they are AC Delco units, and so far I have seldom had to change the factory genuine AC Delco coils, most often from corroded terminals or accidental water damage. But once my...

Re: VR Ute
That is a good chart. I prefer twin exhaust systems where possible. It's a shame muffler manufacturers don't post flow numbers for ....mufflers. If they are straight through perf wool packed ones, they should be the same as the exhaust pipe diameter flow like in the chart. But chambered mufflers, y...
