Re: Wrong speed indicated in Tunepro.

Just a quick update on this topic. I changed the pulses to 1250 and the speed displayed in TP is perfect. Thanks so much for the help!

Main spark Table crane 284

I pasted the spark table from an early 284 cam tune from this site into my $12p tune and noticed a few things that seemed a little odd to me. The table is commanding 40 deg under real light acceleration or deceleration and only a maximum of 25 deg under full throttle at 4800 rpm. I would have though...

Re: Wrong speed indicated in Tunepro.

The jaycar kit breaks into the signal wire not far from the sensor and before the dash. I havent got a wiring diagram in front of me but I thought the ecu gets its signal from the dash? The dash is showing the correct speed (checked with GPS). The only thing I could think of is the output waveform f...

Wrong speed indicated in Tunepro.

After spending quite a bit of time understanding tunepro and making adjustments to the tune I am happy to say my modified 5 L is purring like a kitten as long as it idling  I moved onto the next stage and took the car for a drive to log some data and apart from stopping a couple of times to...

Re: Cold start idle tuning

You are 100% right there. As long as you turned the key and it started first kick and idled reasonably smooth the settings where perfect. Since adding the wideband it has opened up a whole new can of worms. What the engine is doing and the sensors reading can be 2 completely different things. At thi...

Re: Cold start idle tuning

So another words dont worry about the cold start AFR to much as long as the engine runs ok cold? Maybe Im just looking to much at the wideband readings compared to the target AFR and expecting them to be the same no matter what temp the engine is.

Re: Cold start idle tuning

When tuning the ve table at operating temp I can get the target AFR and wideband AFR pretty close but when I start the engine from cold the target AFR and wideband can be 2-2.5 points out on the lean side then as the engine gets closer to operating temp the Target and wideband eventually read the sa...
