My mate gave me one of these kits is it possible to use that to replace the standard VN v8 ignition module?

reading 27c 128 stock vn eprom
Hello guys
I Have a standard vn 27c 128 eprom that has a modded tune on it and hage trouble reading it. I have the settings correct and when you hit read it seems like it reading but all i get is blocks of 00...the eprom works.fine in the car
Using willem eprom programmer which i know works fine.
