FYI there are several alternatives to the software that requires the msc1 if you can get your hands on it.

Our alpha version can read and edit the Tricore TC1791 2015-2017 mustangs now, we should be able to de-scramble the OSID if you send us a read. Note that it is a very early alpha version, we haven't publicised the mustang support yet.

I am aware of PCMTEC and that in some cases they offer more granular control over Ford specific parameters. It isn't just some cases, it is all Falcons. It is also ~1000 parameters vs 6000 parameters. HPTuners is highly limited and does not map all the speed density tables, you will really struggle...

The PCM uses a separate module to measure the pulses. It also uses the camshaft position feedback as well as a backup. You will not be able to do this easily. Just transplant the whole loom. Be much easier. You'll be missing half the loom connections.
