Re: Different '424' pcm's
Yeah my thinking was by putting an nvram in and then plugging the memcal into it may slow it down due to adding a extra set of chips into the processing pathway? I'm not very tech savvy so I'm probably not even close in my assumption haha Also I should add that I'm only wanting to keep the knock fil...

Re: Different '424' pcm's
Hmmmmmm.... interesting
Does it slow the transfer rate leaving it as a plugin verses directly fitting it to the nvram?

Re: Different '424' pcm's
Oh ok well at a glance the hsv memcal has more to it under the cover so that would suggest it has the knock board and as I'm going to a nvram wouldn't that eliminate that side of it in any case? Or does that get plugged into the nvram plugin to still utilize the knock filter?

Re: Different '424' pcm's
How do I identify that? So the knock board is part of the actual pcm board not the memcal itself? If that's the case then I will be using the hsv spec pcm to utilize the knock detection.Wade wrote:Going off the pics you posted the pcm on the right looks like it's fitted with the knock board still

Re: Different '424' pcm's
The memcal in the hsv pcm isn't the original so unsure if it even has one in it either. Car has been refitted with a memcal from "the Brock shop" along with a small cam upgrade (before I purchased the car).

Re: Different '424' pcm's
Ok cool in that case I'll modify the v6 pcm and keep the hsv pcm all original and put it aside as a spare. Cheers mate

Re: Different '424' pcm's
Cheers for the quick reply, I vaguely remember someone telling me a few years ago they are interchangeable so long as the tune is suited as you have said but that was all hear say so wanted to confirm it. Here is the v6 memcal

Different '424' pcm's
Ok guys so I've got myself these two little gems and plan on fitting a nvram to the 5lt pcm (which is out of my VR clubby) and set it up for rt tuning. the 3.8l pcm came out of an vs ss I bought as a doner car (car wasn't running when I bought it and can't be run) My question is, is this a likely th...
