Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

Had a bit more of a tinker today with the boat out on the water. I've found that the key to the low idle (600 RPM) seems to be bringing the timing right back. Best results I've achieved are with idle spark adv at 16 deg. With this, I've got the wideband reading 13.5 with some fluctuation. This low s...

Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

Hi all, I’ve spent quite a bit more time qweaking... the NVRAM makes it sooo much easier! I’m aiming for an idle around 600rpm and have found that it’s is not happy any leaner than 12.5 and I’ve had to pull the idle spark back to about 22-24 deg to get it to settle!! I’m not holding out much hope of...

Re: Programming NVRAM with GQ-4x4

Thanks vlad!
I found my issue... i had to lift the chip slightly before locking it in... one of the legs must not have been making good contact.

Programming NVRAM with GQ-4x4

Hi all, Wondering if someone can give me a quick run down of the correct procedure for working with the GQ-4x4 software. I managed to work out how to write 12p files onto an EEPROM chip using the stack function in TP, however I’m not having the same luck with the NVRAM chip. (Believe it corrupted so...

Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

Is there a guideline for the AFR that the 304 idles best?
I’ve read conflicting figures.

Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

I don't think I explained very well sorry. I already have a USB cable with FTDI chip built in. That's what I'm currently using for high speed logging with 12P. It's working perfectly, I soldered onto the 808 board at the TX, RX and ground locations. Trying to figure out whether the comms boards avai...

Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

Thanks Jenko I'm looking to upgrade to the NVRAM for real time tuning... will be nice to speed up the trial and error process. I'm currently using a "FTDI TTL-232R-5V-AJ USB to Serial (TTL level) converter cable" for high speed logging. Wired in TX, RX and earth per a diagram/picture I saw...

Re: 304 running on 808 in ski boat - idle surge

Hello again all, I've attached the current BIN and a log. Still working on the VE table at this stage, getting the BLM working would be great to help the process along. I found the culprit for a stall issue I was having, TPS pin was in the wrong place after I converted to wideband  I'm now won...
