Re: Wanting to build a PCM bench tester??

My interest is a bit the reverse of this. What I'd like to build is a few Interceptors, or level convertors. Especially to remap the MAF, MAP and IAT sensors. Has anyone here built simulators for the MAF/MAP sensors or IAT sensors ? It's basically the same things as a in a PCM tester anyway. Maybe I...

Re: OBDII in Daihatsus

I went via Buyee to the Yahoo link you gave me, but couldn't get it to give me any more info. Try importmonster - http://www.importmonster.com.au/yahoo/?cat=0&term=L880K Importmonster are good because they have a translate to English button available so you have a chance of reducing flying junk...

Re: OBDII in Daihatsus

Hi I'm new here, but there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people here, so, here goes: I have a 2003 Daihatsu Copen, which I absolutely love. It has an OBDII connector under the dash, right where you'd expect it to be. But no matter what I plug into it, nothing can communicate with it. Code read...

Re: Wanting to build a PCM bench tester??

Most benches don't really need simulated driving for checking code changes but it would be pretty cool .shouldn't be to hard with the atmega and arduino offerings out there to play back a log and have them output the signals It would be fine to include an Arduino, but the point of having 'Tests' is...

That seems like a reasonable objective. I'd commit to assisting to making that happen.

What programming language shall we use? Python or C++ ? If it's one of those then I can help.

Maf I spose you could use another one of these for all the rest of the signals can be trim pots.i used to use my sound card with a signal generator to do rpm but it didn't have the grunt to do it well.im looking to see if I can mode the file on the at mega so I can step up the frequency while it's ...

Re: E55 bench harness

You could connect Pin 4/5 on the ODB-II connector. Actually it's generally pretty easy to figure out the ground plane on most pcb's with a multimeter. The ground plane on any pcb usually connects to the mounting screws. http://www.24-7mobilelocksmith.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/PCM-computer.jpg T...

Re: Wanting to build a PCM bench tester??

What functions did you want to test ? The cost of doing it properly would be in the tens of K$'s from scratch for something of professional quality, DIY. They exist in Europe, like Germany, probably in somebody's garage. There would be a few companies that would make them up for the various car comp...
