Re: Big cam 304 Tuning help needed

Thank you GM for putting the coil in the best possible position. I imagine that's why when the owner said that they had checked out everything before I came along... they had not checked the coil. Running better with a dusty old coil from the parts shelf and actually responding to timing like it sho...

Re: Big cam 304 Tuning help needed

Thanks for the replys. The cam specs are just a quick google, I'm going off the owner advising that the cam is a H304 so perhaps the google specs were wrong. Is overlap going to be the cause of the lean afr readings? It seems pretty severe but I don't have any experience with tuning cams so maybe th...

Big cam 304 Tuning help needed

G'day all. I have been tasked with the job of trying to make a badly built motor drivable. The motor is a stock VR 304 with auto which has had a h304 cam fitted I am told by a couple of lads in the shed. I have looked up the species online and it is a big angry cam that requires 10:1 comp, which it ...

Re: TX3 project

Well I spent a little time today and set the dizzy up with a camira module. Firing on 4 with timing set at 10deg. Ecu wiring is 50% there but atleast now I can move it around while I wait for the new module to arrive.

Re: TX3 project

Well unfortunately the second hand d1927a is only sending voltage to one of the coils. Tried another known good coil pack and even swapped them around before just measuring the module output voltages. Good voltage on the B bank when cranking and almost nothing on A. Surprisingly it still runs on 2 c...

Re: TX3 project

A bit of progress on the trigger wheel and the 4cyl module arrived from the US today. It took a full month but as long as it works then all is fair. Next steps is to wire in the 808 and fit some GM sensors.
