Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
Rodney, Welcome! I take it you already have a bench harness made up for the 80 pin GM PCM's? I made one last weekend for $10 by basically just following https://sites.google.com/site/sloppywiki/tuning-information/obd2-bench-harness I did find that he mislabeled the OBDII port - serial data / purple ...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
Hey Tazzi, Working with GIT Branches isn't too bad. It basically works like this in your git directory you'll be on - by default - master so instead of working on that do this create a new branch $ git branch tazziBranch then checkout that branch $ git checkout tazziBranch Do whatever you're going t...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
I think you mean J2534 rather than J2537? The PDF you linked to is certainly all about J2534, and J2537 doesn't appear anywhere in it... J2534 is what Tazzi and I are talking about. I think it has a lot of promise. At this point we're exploring a lot of options, and we'll see which one(s) work best...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
can you add pgbpro20 as a contributor to the git repo? let me know what git workflow you'd like to use. In my line of work where we have just a few contributors we tend to commit directly to master when the software is at this kinda phase, then we do feature branches after release. But let me know i...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
So you're using the Allpro with custom firmware to solve the hardware challenge with open source hw/sw, cool... And since this has been done before (with a source from dimented 24x7 that you have) with the AVT cable it makes sense that the earliest working versions of this software will support that...

Re: Open source GM OBD2 flash tool using a ELM327 device
I'm a little late to this game. I'd like to help with the project. From what I gather ya'll have moved on to communicating to the ECU via J2534 which (as a protocol) supports passthrough J1850 w/ 4x VPW for reprogramming. But then I'm confused because NSFW says his Tactix Openport 2.0 does not suppo...
