Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
If it came out of an MPFI N13 Pulsar, you can be pretty sure it's an 808. I'm not sure what the code on that sticker is, but yours sounds about right because I just checked a couple of 808s and they have numbers starting with 95208L, 95215L etc. Have you considered distributorless ignition, rather ...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
Is there any way to tell if the ecu I have is an 808 other than the sticker normally on the case? The sticker on the front of the ecu I brought has fallen off. There is still a sticker on the edge of the electrical connector which says 95210L113330036 The car is came out of was a 1990 Nissan pulsar ...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
For logging purposes you will need a coms board for the 808 ECU which you can buy off this forum or if you use a VR manual ECU you will need an ALDL cable and unit again available from this forum. Check the for sale section. You can also buy a NVRAM from here which allows you to do live tuning. I d...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
I now have everything except the ecu, which I should be getting soon.
Can someone please explain any modifications needed to the ecu and how to connect it to a computer for tuning?

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
The pickup coil is connected to the Camira module as shown. It just uses the low level ac signal to do the switching. You can also use a Bosch HE coil and module. The polarity of the 2 wires is important and you will find out quickly if you have it wired incorrect as the engine will run like the pr...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
Make sure you get the carbie Magna distributor. One from a Sigma is still a good choice and might be cheaper. You need one with an inductive pickup. I have a few lying around here if you are in Sydney. If you have the advance curve figures from your old dissy itt'l be a big help in programming the ...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
Thank you for your replies delcowizzid and jenko. Fitting the camira/n13 distributor to go in the Alfa is not possible as the drive for the distributor in the Alfa is off the oil pump drive a long way in the timing case. So needs a long shaft, the n13 distributor just goes on the end of the cam. I n...

Re: 1980 Alfa GTV fuel injection conversion - beginner quest
You just weld the mechanical advance to prevent it working and forget the vacuum. The 2 wires are fed to a Camira (or HEI) module to do the ignition switching. All the timing is then done by the ECU that you program into it. Make sure you get the Pulsar/Camira with the 808 ECU. The early ones had a...
