Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
Got some time this arvo, so I'll get the Tech2 out again and see if the VIN's been set right!

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
So, got the tech2 clone today. Opened up SPS, chose tech2 legacy pass thru, plugged in all the cables and the flash works first time! Car starts up right away. Even got the instrument panel flashed successfully to get all the options back! I haven't disconnected the battery yet, but the VIN seems to...

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
So what you're saying is that VZ's can be reset after programming, but the VIN can't be changed? I got a notification back from an engineer of the VCX Nano I used basically saying that their product can't reprogram used ECUs, are they trying to pull my leg to avoid a return or is there some truth to...

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
I get that same screen to put in my VIN! We'll see if it takes the VIN when I flash using the Tech2. My suspicion is that it's a bad VCX clone as well, especially since I didn't order from the "official" channels. I've asked for a return so hopefully not too out of pocket. In any case, I f...

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
SPS makes no mention of changing the OS over before it fails. I made the possibly expensive decision of ordering a Tech2 since no-one close seems to be able/willing to do it. Shame I can't change the VIN tho. I was thinking that when you put in the new VIN in SPS, it would rewrite it. I'm guessing t...

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
Lesson learnt! I suspect the OS is fine on it, just that it refuses to start the car due to a checksum error. I made a few inquiries to some local people here, but most seem to think the Tech2 can't do SPS programming, which I think is BS given that it comes up as an option. I'm very tempted to get ...

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
Knowing the VZ ECUs, nothing will come of it as all the chips are transparent, unlabelled and encased in a clear gel. I opened up my dead ECU before.

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
So, looking at the ECU labelling:
The main number is 92179459 AAAA
Service No.: 12585814
and also 810 circled

Re: VZ ECU with "Very Low Fuel" error after failed SPS flash
Thank you for the invaluable knowledge tazzi! Some more weird symptoms; before the first flash, when SPS tried to read the VIN, it came up blank, and so did all of the ECU information. I put in my car's VIN. After the failed flash, it could actually read the VIN consistently (but this was the origin...
