Re: Getting Started E38?
Perfect. I found a E38 on EBay with pigtails for $35 shipped so I grabbed it! I noticed, playing with the cluster, that requesting the HV wake signal gets a response from the cluster. I haven't played much with single wire can and its hard to find too much information out about it on youtube and stu...

Getting Started E38?
I am coming from the older LS1 PCMs, and I want to get one of the newer ones up and running on my bench. Im not completely sure where to get started, so I figured I would ask the experts. Goal: I want to learn about GMLAN and play with an instrument cluster. I have a few different GM truck clusters ...

Re: IPC Hammer
is there a source for new chips? 03-04. I was desoldering the uart jumper wires and I think one touched the top far left pins on the PRNDL display...and the chip no longer communicates. I just recovered it too from a brick. Any ideas or did I create some spare parts? I have some if you still need o...

Re: IPC Hammer
It would be easier to fix the backlight on your cluster lol.MudDuck514 wrote:Hi all;
My question is can this app be adapted to work on a 1999 to 2005 Pontiac Grand AM IPC as I want to swap in another cluster as the LED display on mine is too dim to see in daylight!

Re: GM-LAN bible but for J1850 VPW
Unfortunately does not exist as GM never made it consistent between vehicles. Makes sense I didn't know for sure but thought this might be the case. I was hoping it might be the same across the board for a lot of the basic stuff just because a GMT-800 pcm can control a trailblazer cluster. So I wou...

GM-LAN bible but for J1850 VPW
Is there a document like the https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qEwOXSr3bWoc2VUhpuIam236OOZxPc2hxpLUsV0xkn0/edit?usp=sharing GM LAN Bible for Class 2 stuff? To give context. I really just want to be able to tell a GMT-800 cluster Transmission temp numbers to test the feature when modding them. ...

Re: Right to Repair.
hence the comment earlier that something as simple as a dash cluster failure should not cripple a vehicle... been going on here since turn of the century and there's only a few people/companies that can overcome it and they charge like wounded bulls. Eg: you have to have a compatible scantool or su...

Re: Right to Repair.
Perfect example is immobiliser not programming/delinking correctly during reprogramming sessions on secondhand modules. It USE TO work correctly, but uses incorrect immo codes on most modules as of today. :shock: So I don't know this to be true or not but I've heard on newer cars swapping other mod...

Re: Right to Repair.
Actually put it into practice instead of doing short youtube videos complaining how hard it is. I literally do repair for a living. I specialize in automotive circuit boards and railway signal boards. I also do freelance technician work for an engineering firm that that does D.O.D. repair work spec...
