Not at the moment sorry, I've decided to stop making them for now. I'll post here if I decide to make some more at some point.

I'll still be supporting those who bought them and posting app updates when necessary.

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

I have a question about pin C5. If the pin 85 on the relay switches with the ECD powering up from a switched 12v ignition source & the relay pin 86 is also from a switched 12v ignition source. Why is the relay needing a switched Ground ? Could it not be a permanet ground to the relay ? Go easy ...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

After a fair delay I now have a few more of these units on hand. The new version is the same as the old but with the addition of two rpm based programmable outputs (for switching a relay, shift light, etc). Have also made a few changes to the instruction manual to include the newer versions of the uni...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

Is your LS Coil Driver different to VL400's LSx Coil Driver possibly ? In the notes for that LSx Coil Diver it has the D514A as being know to work. Cheers Deek I might have gotten a couple of bad coils, they were out of a wreck. I'll have to retest at some point. This is completely different to the...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

So how do I know which coils are not recommended ? I do know of one or two who have used these IGN-1A Coils with a LSx Coil Driver box (Not your SilentBob) supplied through this site. Both had Kalmaker tunes applied & as far as I know no issues yet, apart from a bad earthing issue in ones wirin...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

It's not so much a time issue as it is a current limit. It's just referenced as a dwell period because most people tuning will be changing dwell times. I don't have the exact numbers but for example the coils could take 8ms at 7v before they self discharge and only 5ms at 13.8v. I had some issues wi...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

Hi SilentBob, Coils with overdwell protection ? Is that possibly the IGN-1A type ? Hoping not. Cheers Coils like the LS2 type will discharge if you try to have a dwell period that is too long, greater than about 4.5ms. When the dfi module is controlling dwell (during cranking or fault modes) i beli...

Re: Ecotec LS Coil Driver

The Skid Factory did a recent video where they "upgraded" a genuine VL HDT with efi and Haltech using a VT V8 distributor for timing with coil per cylinder ignition. When they put it on the dyno it had a huge problem with ignition scatter. They then upgraded to a crank trigger using a 36-...
