Re: Trouble Codes
Looks like the ALDL is different on the US cars. We grounded the diagnostic terminal and counted flashes for years until scan tools were available. If needed we could change the diagnostic connector or make jumpers and use a scan tool for a VR. Thanks for the info! Although you could be right, I'm ...

Re: Trouble Codes
Since the OP is in the 'States, the ECM is probably a '165 rather than an '808. This means that the ECM includes the ALDL interface circuit, which is wired to pin A8. If the wiring harness brings this line to a suitable ALDL connector, perhaps 12 pin or "OBD 1.5" (16 pin), then there shoul...

Re: A few question that I can't find answers too
Your questions 2&3 are determined by :
- Whether the associated pin circuitry is designed for signal conditioning (ie. input) or driving (ie. output).
- The firmware, particularly what purposes it uses these inputs and outputs for.

This is mine: https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4308&p=59589#p59589 The link is no longer valid but I created a PDF of it back in the day. KnockEars.pdf Works a treat. Easy & cheap to make. Hope that helps. Chuff Thanks, Chuff. To assist in reading the article in full (since the...

If it helps, on a V6 VX, the transmission speed pick-up sensor goes to D1 and D2 on the PCM.

Re: Offsets when burning different EPROMS
The higher the capacity the eprom the longer it takes to clear under UV as the cells have a physically smaller surface area for exposure. No, I don't think so. The cells are smaller but they hold less charge. Only programming takes longer, because unlike erasure, it's done one byte at a time. Joe. ...
