New RMS info for Modified Cars

Looks like the RMS has decided to concentrate emission testing on cars made after 1997 so my question is do the older cars still have to meet the regs to get registered in NSW. My guess is no.

The problem is you have to have a flex fuel setup. I believe United can be anywhere from 70% to 90%.

Re: VP 5lt conversion to HQ

What Vlad said is correct. Going off the 6 pin ALDL connector. If you wire up a low current light (I use LED with dropping resistor) with the negative going to terminal E of the 6 pin plug and the positive to a 12 ignition on power. Any low current 12 volt light will do so polarity won't matter. The...

Re: VP 5lt conversion to HQ

Theres a few guessing questions that need to be answered.
What is the number of the ECU?
Do you have a check engine light wired into the car?
Do you have a diagnostic plug fitted?
I have added a pic of the diagnostic plugs fitted to early and late Delco systems.

Re: Vlad's rides thread

Maybe whoever put the pressure plate together didn't put lube of the pivot rings. Thats about the only thing left that would make the noise. Did you have a close look at the falk where it pivots on the ball. I have had them crack and make a noise.

Re: Vlad's rides thread

It's not in need of a good lube on the pivot or ends of the falk?

Re: Vlad's rides thread

Does that car have the slave cylinder inside the gearbox or on the outside with a release falk?

Re: Vlad's rides thread

I'm not sure I follow. I have found Exedy to be top clutch kits so I'm surprised with your problem. Are you saying the new cutch has also exploded the clutch plate?

Re: Vlad's rides thread

I'm surprised with your comment about the clutch. A new clutch should be light and feel even lighter from half way down because the diaphragm goes over centre. Was the diaphragm flat after you tightened it down?

The best thing to wash down the crud is lacquer thinners. dop the oil, wash it down with a stiff brush and thinners allowing what you can to drain out then a short oil change interval.
