BCM Simulator

Post by VL400 »

Another early prototype I thought people might be interested in

Its a BCM simulator for VR to VY engines when doing conversions - and it will be affordable! It links to VT and later PCMs and simulates a valid key for VR and VS to disable VATS, gives a CEL on VT and later, low speed fan for VS and later, A/C control and passes it to the PCM so it knows the request has come in on VT and later. On VT and later PCMs you can have a dash hooked up to the bus and it will work. Basically does all the BCM stuff thats engine related.

very keep to see some testing results on some different conversions, shame i don't still have the ecotec torana, was a small need for it on that to make things more "proper"

Got some time to test out the BCM sim so thought some quick vids were in order

Linking a VY flash based PCM to allow a VATS locked PCM to work as if a valid key is being used. This is only done once to initially link the PCM and BCM sim. Red is power LED, yellow is data and green flashes once the linking is complete ...

CEL controlled by the BCM sim on a VY flash PCM ...

The sim also has all the usual bus chatter between the BCM and PCM, this means any TP ADX that looks for heartbeat and BCM chatter tool will work just like on a vehicle from the factory. It does not request data from the ABS or SRS systems.
