VT-VY LS1 codes and logging

Post by nemo »

Ok have 2 cars VT and VY both LS1, after 2 weeks of looking and searching Im pulling my hair out
trying to find some way to read trouble codes and look at the data.

Ive brought and returned 2 scan tools that were ment to read the codes and data log, MaxiDiag US703 GM Ford Chevrolet, was the last one.

Ive read ELM 327 will/wont read codes, others say only tech 2.

Ive downloaded vcm suite demo but cant find info if it will do what I want and looked at a couple of items on ebay,

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HOLDEN-LS1-V ... 806wt_1255

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holden-Cruze ... 518wt_1255

Do any of the programs people are working on in this site going to do what I need, I downloaded 1 but windows cant open the file.

Please help
Cheers

That first link is a bloke who sells our free software then sends people to us for support. Suggest you contact him for help, he should know how to use it. It looks suspiciously like http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-ELM327-V ... 0943025683 with the label removed.

Just get a normal cheap elm 327 and google for pc software for it. or for that kind of money buy the real genuine quality item from scantool.net something like http://www.scantool.net/obdlink-sx.html and pick one of the software packages. They're the guys that developed the elm thats been cloned by the chinese and which turns up on ebay cheap.

Been on the scantool net forum and they dont have any thing that reads aussie ls1 codes.
Plenty of aussies on there asking why there tool aint giving codes only live data and the guys at scantool dont understnd why.
They seem to think our ls1s are fully obd2 by the screen shots posted off the scan tools.

Dam holden and there obd1/2 mix only advice from scantool net on the subject is buy a tech 2.

The last scan tool I returned, MaxiDiag US703, wouldnt even communicate with the PCM tried on 3 ls1s
