ABS and BCM DTC's

Post by Sweet_Wagon »

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone here help me out, does anyone have a list of ABS/BCM DTC's for a '95 VS commodore?

It seems the latest VS V6 ADX file that is updated in this thread http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=29 only has the send command to clear the DTC's defined, but not what the actual code's that have been set?

I'm Hoping to have a crack at modifying that ADX to have ABS and BCM DTC's if not done already somewhere.

Via the TunerPro RT menu :
Acquisition/Show Data Lists : Select "Message 3 - DTC Error Codes"

You might also try the ADX I posted here : http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... =30#p51866

ABS and BCM DTC's are not a part of the engine data stream of those ADX's. a new one will have to be made to talk to the ABS and BCM modules to get the data. maybe Tazzi will know more.

Im a bit cautious on the ABS, since even with the tech2, it seems to set off a bunch of ABS warnings on the dash which Im fairly certain disabled ABS since once in the ABS menu you can select to monitor ABS by "not disabling" and by "disabling".

The disabling method requests the module by its main device ID. The 'not disable' requests to a secondary address from what I understand and can obtain less information but doesnt set off a bunch of alarms.

This is for VY/VZ commodores though. Not sure on VS or VR.

So if there's an ABS or BCM fault, the ECU/PCM is oblivious, and doesn't report any DTC's itself as a result?

Yep each module can be "request" individually.

Eg. Device ID for VY/VZ BCM is F1. Instument cluster is F2 ect. Think I wrote down all the ID's for the VY/VZ's in the tech2 reversing thread before.

ECU will only care about engine issues, or the faults that it has saved up. If the SRS light goes off, the ECU doesnt give two shits and wont stored any info. Only the SDM will have info for the SRS issue.
