Well, beware the 160 baud ALDL signal is 12V, so be sure the Tech 1 input can handle this (probably it can, I don't have any info. on it, but I thought I'd highlight this just in case).

On Tech1 self-test routine, there is a mention to a 5V serial line..
Considering it was advertised to be rugged, I believe that circuit is 12V tolerant. But I would not bet my money on that.
