From personal experience, a bad PCV valve will allow the intake to suck up a heap of oil although I've never lost that much oil in such a short period.
I was wondering about the pcv valve. That's a LIM off job to inspect on the ecotec I gather ? Or is there another option there ?

You have to separate the plenum from the LIM. Pop the plenum cover off and see if there is a trail of oil from the PCV breather port in front of the TB neck going into the runners.

LIM gaskets will normally have gunk under rad cap or in/on coolant reservoir dipstick. Oil in water can occur too. Every Ecotec I have owned has had these gaskets fail around 180-250k. Yes more money!

Grab the gaskets on sale:

PIA job but well worth it as if weeping it can wreck O2s, plugs etc in weeks and generally make the motors run like dogs.

I would grab some matched injectors off The1 while I was doing the gaskets if they haven't been done yet, as old ones can dribble at idle and make them run like crap too.

Thanks I will look into those Injectors from The1.
Saw a thread on here before showing some improved spray patterns from a compatible injector he had found.
