From what I can see, you cut the 4th leg on the netres and you needed to cut the 5th leg to turn v6 to v8

from looking at the netres pictures it still needs that 5th leg for the 7.5k as thats what stock v8 has but removing the 4th(15k resistance) "SHOULD" do the trick but didn't seem to with either of these memcal's!

Pin numbers start from top left -> bottom left, then bottom right ->top right so the one you cut is pin 13.
You need to re-join that one and cut pin 12 instead.

AHH bugger the photo that's in earlier post is wrong then, I wish I didn't break it off at the base now but I was pretty sure the photo I had in my memcal folder was the same as what I did last time, but obviously not!

Yeah, the notch in the diagrams marks the same end as the dot next to pin one in your photos. In general (not just this thread) the way of marking pin one can vary between manufacturers, but the mark is pin 1 or pin 1 end. You can see in your pics that all the chips have some kind of notch, or dot down one end. Thats the chips reference point.

Has anyone used a VR-VS V6 chip successfully with the netres leg cut and knock board removed when using a stacked $12P tune in the 808? I have heaps of them but have had not had any success.

Cheers

Plenty of times. You will need too stack 12P when burning to a VR V6 AUTO memcal as they are 512kb.

yes 512K bit = 64K Byte so 2 copies of 12P in size (and the second copy is used as its all mapped from the end of the chip, not the start.)
