Gentlemen,
Just joined the board this morning, but have been tuning GM TPI for 10+ years. My question is about converting 4 cylinder memcals to v8.

If I cut pins 53, and 56 ( 3rd pin left, and 4th pin right), and solder in a 7.5 ohm resistor would it work, or would I have to deal with pin 58 (5th on right)?

That was the post I quoted as basis for my theory.

it's prob fine, but personally i would cut them all to be sure, then run the 7.5k over

I'll give this a try, and post up results.

It worked! I could only get 3.3 ohm resistors, so I doubled them and started it with an adapter without an SES light. Soldered in a new 28 pin chip and she's up an running. I'll take it for a drive later and see if everything works okay. Without the knowledge of this thread I couldn't have done this, so thanks to all who contributed.

I'm finally going to try this out, looking from the thread it's mentioned that just cutting the leg of V6 will make it suit V8, but there's a lot that say it also HAS to have the 15k resistor too?

Is there any way of making or changing a V6 to work in LHM for V8?

Thanks Holden202T I thought that was the case, but why do some others have the 15k resistor added too?

Is there a way to make LHM work converting V6 to V8 style?

the only reason I could see that's you would add the 15k is to make a v8 on into a 6 cylinder...

im not sure what LHM means ?
