LSx Coil Driver

Here is another small ignition driver I have been playing with...

Its to convert a normal ignition module output in to a LS1/LS2 coil compatible signal. There are 3 coil inputs and 6 coil outputs - so on a V6 you can pull off the coil packs from the module base and wire out the 3 terminals to this module which drives 6 x LS1 coils. It also works with single coil (V8) and 2 coil (4cyl DIS) systems.

There is an RPM input that gets its signal from the Delco ref signal, the button on case is to set the random cyl spark cut rev-limit (bring the engine up to half the desired RPM and release to set). And of course, another wire for 2-step enable

It is not a replacement for your current ignition module and cannot read cam/crank signals for delco conversions. It simply allows for a better spark by using LSx coils, spark cut rev limit on track cars and of course 2-step launch (ground switched so will interface nicely with switching map B of 12P to chuck some extra fuel in and spark retard).

I have recently installed and tested one of these on a friends V6 twin turbo escort :D simple directions, easy to wire up and everything worked perfectly.

What a great job you have done on that! How much would we be looking at for one of these? Also, how much boost were you able to build on that 2-step you did in the video Jayme?

idle is heaps smoother but it wasnt in that video one coil was arcing out making a miss if i opened up the throttle to fast it cleared out when i moved the coils.the output of these coils is so strong i had arcs flowing down the dirt on my rubber fuel lines to the steel line just a little dodgy LOL
