Sadly vlad, most of the population would disagree with you. That said doesn't make it right LOL.
I do agree Chrome does belt the shit out of my older MBP 2011 when rendering videos - never used to. I disagree with sites broken, I don't seem to have an issue with any I visit, porn included.
I know our app has 70+ percent of users on chrome with the remainder on IE, FF or Safari believe it or not.
Industry stats are 60 odd percent for Chrome vs 10 and 10 for FF and IE then everything else.

I agree with him, been using it for most of it's time in existence, lately I'm getting tired of being blocked out of sights because they host info that doesn't align with mainstream narrative, alt news sights and the likes.
Also finding it seems to hit a brick wall after looking at youtube vids in a playlist after about an hour or so, like the cache needs to be dumped and rebooted..
Found this alternative a few weeks ago, haven't installed it yet, hoping to do a clean install of 7 within the next week or so on an old laptop, will give it a go then.

been using FF for years now. im too set in my ways to bother trying anything else now lol. initially it was because IE was a turd and chrome didnt exist. now I hate the fact that google railroads everyone into chrome.... and IE is still a turd...
I would hazard a guess that most users in your stats using chrome are people who dont care what their browser is and were railroaded into using chrome and still dont care lol.

that and the fact you can now secure chrome via GPO in windaz has poured it into business.
it did have the upper hand in rendering pages vs the IE turd years ago and i think its stuck more than IE
plus its android.
plus its chromebook (which is fucking awful)
that said gsuite ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BLOWS I HATE THAT SHIT although gmail is ok.

Good info here.

https://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=120569

As I primarily use ff I don't get anywhere the usage of the playback benchmarks done on this page which in on chrome.
Note a people people and the author picked up on ff being less of a resource pig.

My own testing at just 1080p

I also have 28 tabs open on ff.

Finally found some 4k 60 to test.

chrome CPU almost pegged and playback was jerky with stutters here and there.

ff had quite a bit less usage and was butter smooth.

Chrome is just puss.

I have seen all sorts of issue with chrome and the amount of crap that they do in the background is just amazing. Yes i am a Firefox user and have been for a long time, but this was due to ie being terrible and hating netscape. Chrome came out and tried to take over the world, even to the stage they sold there underpinning to many other browsers (including Opera). Opera have now broken away from chromium base and are doing alot more things better than chrome ever has.

Google do a number of secretive and dangerous things. I would not trust them and as they get bigger they will only get worse. Currently they are heading the AI for the world and a military test that went wrong was only not a casualty because of a human off duty solder. I would highly recommend looking at a few TED talks in the AI realm and why it is not a good idea.

I am so anti auto drive cars that I think this will not be a great things for humanity. Basically it will be the driving force of laziness but it is definitely not a safety thing. I suspect the government will at some stage try to ban all non autodrive vehicles, shall be an interesting future.

cheers

I'm a Chrome user and have noted since the last major update video playback has been worse. I think part of the problem with the likes of Chrome and IE is that they are trying to do/be everything and it gets to big and cumbersome and therefor a resource hog. As above, Google/Chrome are also getting far to far into peoples lives and snooping on everything they do.

Maybe I'll have to try firefox?
