He is a very good writer and you know with his material it has actually been tried and tested. His Big Block Chev book goes into detail how the position of the head on the block shrouds the valves.

How To Make Your Car Handle by Fred Puhn is an old (1976!) and good book on the subject of handling. The physics it describes and the way of thinking remain relevant. There is a lot described in the book but most people would learn a lot skimming over any section.
