The ones at work clip onto the rear of Dell monitors. That and wireless mouse and keyboard is a very neat set up and clutter free desk.
Re: Server/Networking Possibilities - Can it be done?
were all changed over to NUCS for our desktops at work as well, so much power savings and space saving, havn't tried yet but id like to see if one runs on 12volt.
Re: Server/Networking Possibilities - Can it be done?
Ours are 19 volt from memory. I have a 19 volt power supply for my laptop for logging etc plugs into the cigarette lighter runs my laptop fine. Was only a cheap eBay one too.
Re: Server/Networking Possibilities - Can it be done?
I was looking into a dedicated desktop, tower setup with some good graphics. But... I don't intend to do hardcore gaming on it.. so I think the NUC is actually going to be perfect.
Need to nut out how to have dual screens on current setup though. Got a BENQ monitor currently and going to get a second one. The NUC appears to have the one HDMI out, dont think my monitor has a HDMI out to connect another from it.

Our NUC's support dual monitor. Mini HDMI and DVI (I think) outputs.

Yeah just read up on that.Dylan wrote:Our NUC's support dual monitor. Mini HDMI and DVI (I think) outputs.
Currently looking at the addition of a addon hub that connects by the thunderbolt (think thats the right word?) which has a couple HDMI outputs, usbs ect.

glad some of that garble helped tazzi. i've spent alot of my years in infra building datacentres, virtualization and now the cloud scam. so i've been around.
so this thing connects via USB and sets up a USB NIC. interesting. they sure did that the hard way. it does tell us though the software would look for the device though based on antus capture on 192.168.171.0/24.
if you could get it plugged into a rPi or something, setup a static route between en0 and wlan0 - get it broadcasting via wireless and had the software running on a NUC in your boot, you could RDP to NUC, start the software and get it to look for the device across wireless.
