I started using MSE in XP and have never looked back, never had an issue that wasn't caused by a bad update ... I love it!

Of course the best form of Virus Protection is simply just to stay away from the Porn sites! ;)

When you see the pop up saying its deleted something immediately click it and it will show its quaruntined the file. If you know you can trust it, then pick the option to allow it and it'll put the file back.

I find its generally a good idea to keep your apps and things backed up somewhere virus scanners cant delete it. And on my server where install media resides I keep things zipped or rared and also have the extracted installer. This means that if something does get deleted by accident you can always unpack the archive again. Its a bit of a different workflow, but you can never trust any virus scanner not to delete something it shouldn't.
