Curious after reading some posts inThe1's enhanced thread.
I have an old Hilux 4wd with a V6 ecotec & the Marks Adapter wiring harness, using the VT ECU & no BCM. About a year or so ago I bought a VSS adapter off Marks to fit to the speedo drive & wired that back to the ECU. All good. About the same time I decided to unplug the EGR valve & remove the EGR valve altogether as it was never connected to the exhaust manifold due to aftermarket headers being fitted to the engine previously. The EGR was blanked off at the exhaust port side so was never able to draw anything through even if the valve port was operated.
About the same time the engine developed a high idle problem, rising up quite high & staying there for a while every time the throttle was touched. I looked for vacuum leaks etc etc, replaced the coolant sensor, clean the throttle body. But have not been able to stop it running up to a high idle every touch of the throttle. Thought maybe fitting the VSS had something to do with it maybe, till recently reading something about EGR & coolant temps.
So to my question (finally).
Does having the EGR plug pull out & sitting free have some effect on the tune & idle rpm ? Seems about the same time the problem started ?
EGR connection - could this be my problem ?
Re: EGR connection - could this be my problem ?
if your using enhanced code there is no EGR code in it, it has all been removed. Only VX/VY Enhanced still has EGR

No I don't believe it would be your enhanced code. Just a modded stock memcal to run without BCM from Marks Adapters mob I assume.

Good chance to get onto the enhanced code anyway.

Simple enough to test, just plug the egr valve back in and hand it somewhere out of the way.
