Faulty AC motor startup capacitor

Post by Gareth »

Gday, my shed compressor shat the startup cap, it is fitted with two, a cd60 and a cbb60. The cbb60 has clearly leaked. Anyhow, has anybody got any suggestions as to what to replace them with, there are $15 eBay units or should I be looking for a brand name?
Any ideas appreciated

Any Brand should do the job. Just watch the uf and voltage rating. A local electric motor rewind shop should stock some.

He'll out if you get stuck mate.

I'd go RS components, that have way more range than any of the others like element14 or jaycar, mouser etc and its free courier regardless of order size.

I was able to get special Swiss made swivel type pull latch RF coax connectors for ultrasonic cutting head on CNC cutter to caps on my PC motherboard to genuine delphi OB2 terminals and plugs.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Thanks for the input guys

So the consensus is that brand doesn't matter, I'll just get some 'el cheapos' then

UF (micro farrad) matters, voltage must be same or higher.

There are polarity and non-polarity sensitive types and different technologies in the manufacturing but search fir cbb60 etc you'll get the right type.
