Supply and demand once its finished. Who knows, it could fall off due to lost interest, or it could go through the ionosphere due to supply running out. Still long time to go, some time in the late 2020s its estimated to be mined out.

Why the need for video cards? I have been watching the bitcoin roller coaster for a few months. Boy is it volatile.

Not only a shortage but also large price inflation on available stock. My boys are pissed!

I'm not sure if its just the mid range stuff, but top end cards I don't know what they are talking about as top models have always been that 1k mark +/- 200 for the last 10 years or so.

One of my first serious gaming PCs I built back in 08 the 9800GTX I paid about $950 each for 2 of them, that wasn't even the highest model as there was the 9800GX2 a dual GPU card which I recall was closer to $1500 mark.

considering economic inflation the price is about on par if not a little cheaper for top end stuff than it used to be. I don't know mid rage prices as I havn't bought a mid range since 04, 6600 Gt it was and cost 350 roughly for a cheap brand of that model.

Well I can see at least the AMD cards have been hit hard, top end nvidia give or take has gone up a fraction, less than 10% at the most.

The vega card though lol, 2.5-3 times the price its meant to be, that is a $500-600 card.

Its a great computing card but a lousy graphics card for gaming, these are the holy grail for miners so thats why its over inflated.

Gamers shouldn't have anything to complain about on these ones, even its MRSP its a less than good gaming card. Good for AMD, they must be making a killing selling to miners lol.
