if thats the case the docs for the product should define what error code 6 is.

Nope!

Sent it through to the devs, they don't know either.

i'd suggest to get another product. that one sounds like rubbish. they should be able to provide that information if they provide a software sdk.

They are eager to help, but I seem to be the only person that has had this problem
They also sent through a compiled linux version (isnt static..) that is used by another customer on their linux server, but that does play ball either.

Im thinking if I can get it up into the WAMP server.. and can replicate this '6' error, I can then just zip up the entire offline site and send it to them for testing.

Hello Tazzi,

technically you should be able to do that with your vmware workstation image. Take screen shots of the setup of the system and then compress and split the vmdk file. Then upload to the cloud somewhere and get them to download it. If you need space I would be happy to assist you.

I also have the option for you of running the entire server in the cloud for your to do further testing with and thus give them a login to. Either way this will give them the area they need to look at the issues you are facing.

Cheers

PS: WAMP might not be your best way forward as I have seen weird issues when using wamp over the proper Lamp systems.

Yeah your correct there, LAMP is what I want to try use...

So, going to install lamp into my ubuntu setup.. and see if I cant test it working from here.
I have a very good feeling this will work happily.

If thats the case... Im thinking just set it up onto the mining rig which is on 24/7.. and forward on the requests from the linux godaddy hosting to my little linux server setup using a simple php script.

Not 100% ideal. But at this point, I just want a working solution so progress isnt halted!

While speaking to Godaddy tech support, the issue is likely due to their end as the shared hosting has various restrictions in place to prevent malicious code from drilling into their systems, and believes this is causing the application from executing correctly. They allow Basic linux applications to run, but some more complex apps will fail to complete correctly... basically like their own antivirus system I guess..

Yeah, you really want a self managed VPS, so you have full control. It sounds like you have a shared web host there, which isnt really whats needed for running custom apps. It sounds like its set up typical web sites only.

Spot on Ant.

Self managed is what I would need. That might be the next step once I have a working solution.

It is! Bit of knowledge from everyone generally finds a whole solution.

As Im now about ready to rage quit on my router which isnt actually port forwarding correctly... easier solution may be infact rent a self managed server for a month and see if cant get it running there.

The godaddy support lad on the phone was pretty honest. He said anyone that uses self managed receives absolutely zero help, as they want you to use their semi-managed option to get those extra few $$.

I am feeling a little bit better about linux though after tinkering with it a bit
