Thankyou.A8 is one of the 7 exceptions to matching the VR manual pin out.[has nothing]will have a look at VP manual diagram. The engine has roller rockers stock type and a mate said that meant it was VR so ive been looking in that direction.VL400 wrote:One way to tell is what colour wire (if any) is on pin A8. On a VN/VP it will have nothing, VR manual will be red/black and VR auto will be blue/white. Having black plugs I doubt its a VR auto loom.
Here is a single page VR V6 auto diagram ... https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... 37&start=0 The multiple page diagrams are much clearer than this though.
If your keen to do your own chip can always buy a willem and an EEPROM for around 70 bucks total. Can then play around with different tunes

If its a vr auto it should have a cam angle sensor .The manual v6 didnt have cam sensor
If its vr auto loom it should have cam sensor plug as well but if it doesnt have a8 then its prob vn/vp loom or it could be a custom loom.

The engine has the 3 pin plug between water pump and harmonic balancer but no plug on the loom.vn5000 wrote:If its a vr auto it should have a cam angle sensor .The manual v6 didnt have cam sensor

Now were getting somewhere.
I believe the manual VR didnt have/use the cam angle sensor?
Im hoping its not an issue.
I guess this means its not the original loom. The plugs on it do fit VN style ECM,tried it this arvo.
I would like to see a VP V6 manual colour coded pinout diagram if anyone knows where to look? [have tried]

Sounds like someone else has done all the hard work .must be a vr auto engine with vn loom.
You should be able to use a 808 with a std vn memcal from the wreckers.

vr manual tune with vats off and a few tweaks would be best will run on a vn tune but not at its best power levels
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
