so.. car prog is reading it... It does successfully communicate with it.. unlocks successfully and does bring up some data.

It does bring up a "pin code" which is complete rubbish on this ecu.. but Ill try on the otherone which has a known pin and see if it finds it correctly

DOesnt working using the inbuilt function for "reset ecu". It sends a command which isnt even supported.

So there is the option to use Kline, although I didnt think our ECUs even had that.

I see on PIN 48, its "Class2 Serial data".. which I thought would be VPW??

Then looking at wiring diagrams for the ME7.6.2, shows the KLINE on pin 50 I believe.. which on our ECUs is MIL Control

Yeh it seems after about me 7.6 or so when Bosch changed to full can bus the code and pin system changed and was used all way through even on me9 like VZ. The barina 2004 model is same ECU from outside but Inside is different. It uses Kline for front end to diag connector but bcm talks on can to ECU.

Cant monitor the kline commands without an ecu that responds back with them unfortunately. Currently it cant even start the protocol as theres nothing to respond with.

Im sure Iv seen a picture of BDM once upon a time on these ecus. No idea what tool Id have to use but so sure Iv seen a pictrue of one of these ripped open with like 4 or 5 wires to manually read/write to them.
