I was able to get into purchased VINs while not connected yesterday too.
Well.. the fact that its technically a Holden and that worked.. is a good sign.

Support team has explicitly told me that all Holdens are affected and will be unable to proceed until fixed.
I will try again shortly.

In saying the above, all dealerships have officially been pushed across. Now... I will be absolutely pissed if the dealer techline connection option works, but the average user does not.

Reason I think that might be the case, is techline calls to two different servers between an average consumer and a dealer login. If thats the case.. I will just redirect all traffic to the dealer one if that solves it.

No I have genuine MDI2 but it doesnt matter. You'll get the same result with a clone MDI or genuine. I'll try it with my clone over the weekend

Not sure if this helps, but I was trying to help someone else programming a used module.
When starting tlc, click connect and select mdi but have the ignition off so the vin is blank, might not have to do that, but then I clicked on Connect vehicle and typed in the vin I wanted(actually just copied and pasted) and then turned they key on.. It did give me a vin mismatch error but I had the button where I could override it. Continued on to sps2 and selected module to program, got the same vin mismatch error but again I overrode it. it then continued and programmed the module.. I was told that he did not have the "override" button in the vin mismatch error popup.. We ended up believing this was because he was a delco service unit, not a dealer..
Edited: Wanted to add that this was trying to program an E38, not global A

I got mine from Bosch Automotive Service Solutions in Melbourne.
$1495+GST and delivery. They are very slow to respond especially if you don't have an account which I didn't. I'll send the details in PM if you want them.

You can uninstall the new MDI manager and put back the older version to recover it. Hold the power button when powering it up til all lights flash then run through the process with MDI manager.

Just tried on my clone. It won't connect to obd now either.
Tried downgrading MDI software and recovering, no good.
Tried removing and formatting the SD card with newest software, no good.
Tried installing an old T2W - no good.
Tried newest MDI software on a win7 VM with an older T2W - no good.
I'm sure it's not dead - just ran out of time.

I tried - old mdi manager
formatted sd card (i'm not good with Linux. Should i have left the small partition. Instead of creating 1 4gb partition and formatted it with fat32?)

Im getting a code 10 in device manager

Might need to learn linux
Make up a serial cable (mdi 2 clones don't have a port need to solder to the board i think)
Get u-boot access
